It is very important that our furry family members be seen once or twice a year, even if they appear to be healthy. Annual wellness examinations allow a veterinarian to assess your pet’s overall health and well-being. At this time any questions and/or concerns that you may have can be discussed with the doctor.
So what does an annual exam consist of? Your pet’s vital signs will be measured, including weight, body temperature, and heart rate, usually by one of our licensed technicians. Next, a brief history will be noted, including how your pet has been feeling, what he or she eats and how much, elimination habits, and any abnormal behavior. Physical examination will consist of examining the eyes, ears, mouth and teeth, abdomen, skin, and any other “problem area” that needs to be addressed.
Early detection of disease, health conditions, or abnormalities can save you time and money when addressed properly. Often it becomes more serious, stressful, and costly when problems are left untreated. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff are here for you and your pets, and we will see that they get the best care. We love our pets just as much as you love yours, and we will treat them as if they were one of our own.
