

David Larkin, DVM
Dr. Larkin grew up in Kentville, Nova Scotia. He received his BS in Biology in 1996 and his DVM in 2001 from Atlantic Veterinary College. Since then he has practiced in several companion animal practices, as well as in emergency from 2004 – 2010. Dr. Larkin and Dr. McEvoy became owners of Moosehead Trail Veterinary Hospital in 2010. They now reside in Hermon with their two daughters and several pets, including Springer Spaniels Ruby and Monster. Dr. Larkin takes a special interest in dentistry and soft tissue surgical procedures. His knowledge and confidence in veterinary medicine allows clients to rest assured that the best possible care and recommendations have been made concerning their pets. Making a difference and providing a high standard of veterinary care is what Dr. Larkin hopes to achieve now, as well as in the future at MTVH. Outside of the practice he stays very active, participating in a multitude of physical activities including strength training, swimming, cycling, and endurance events. He also enjoys clay target sporting events, as well as snowmobiling during the winter months.


Madeline McEvoy, DVM
Dr. McEvoy is originally from New Brunswick, Canada. She graduated from Atlantic Veterinary College in 2000. She has excellent listening skills and an always-positive attitude allow her clients to feel less anxious in the exam room. She is very thorough and gives each client and patient her undivided attention. Helping pets and people be happy and healthy is what she strives for each and every day. Dr. McEvoy is a self-proclaimed cat lover and has four of her own – Mama, Indy, Iggy, and Coco. When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with her two daughters, traveling, and staying physically active. She particularly enjoys skiing, cycling, and swimming.


Candace Erker, DVM
Dr. Erker comes to us with many years of experience as a Veterinarian. She is originally from the Midwest, having spent ten years in Colorado. She studied as an undergraduate with a BA in French at the University of Colorado Boulder and graduated vet school in 2007 from the University of Minnesota. Dr. Erker enjoys general veterinary medicine and the fact that it’s never the same day twice, which keeps things interesting. Outside of the practice, her hobbies include Yoga, cross-stitch, and cooking. Dr. Erker has two domestic short-haired cats: Optimus Prime and three-legged Ralphie, who she performed her first amputation on years ago. She also recently welcomed a black lab puppy into her family, Chani Tsunami.


Amie, Practice Manager
Amie began with the practice in March of 2023 and is the new practice manager. Amie just recently graduated from Eastern Maine Community College with an A.S. in Business Management. It has always been a goal of hers to someday be in the veterinary field and is excited to begin this new career. She is striving to make MTVH an enjoyable workplace and is continuously learning how to make these goals come to life. Her and her fiancé have corgi name Maddi and cat named Biscuits. During her free time, Amie enjoys being at the beach, camping, fishing, reading, and traveling to Florida to spend time with her family.


Kelli, LVT
Kelli has been a technician at MTVH since 2012. She grew up in York and has always had a love for animals and people. She rode horses when she was younger. Kelli attended the University of Maine at Augusta, where she received an Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Technology. Kelli worked in emergency veterinary services for six years and still fills in at Eastern Maine Emergency Veterinary Clinic to this day. Given her ability to problem solve and years of experience, she excels in assisting in surgical procedures, emergencies, and providing critical care to sick patients. She and her husband reside in Etna with their son, Caleb, and two dogs: Stride, a yellow lab, and Rein, a Goldendoodle. They enjoy going camping, four wheeling, and snowmobiling in their spare time.


Jerica, LVT
Jerica has been with us since 2013 and provides friendly and knowledgeable service to all of our clients and patients. She graduated in 2009 and became a licensed veterinary technician immediately after. Jerica loves helping animals feel better, aiding in their comfort during procedures, and of course snuggling puppies and kittens. She particularly enjoys working in surgery and radiology, and she has proven to be very helpful with IT issues at the clinic. Jerica also fills in at Eastern Maine Emergency Veterinary Clinic when she can. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her fiancé and their two girls and caring for their pets: Bella, an American Bulldog, Scarlett, a Goldendoodle, and Jagar, a domestic short-haired cat. They love going camping, being outside, gardening, and taking care of their chickens and pigs.


Josie, LVT
Josie completed an externship with us while she was working to obtain her Associates Degree of Science in Veterinary Technology. After she graduated and became a licensed veterinary technician, she came on with us full time in May of 2018. Josie loves caring for and helping our furry friends, as well as always learning new things and taking on new challenges. She enjoys assisting in surgical procedures and anesthesia monitoring in particular. Josie and her husband enjoy camping and four wheeling when they’re not working. They reside in Parkman with their five fur babies: Willow, a Chesapeake Retriever mix, Bennington, a black lab, Chunks, a domestic long-haired cat, Lux, a domestic medium-haired cat, and Citrus, a Ragdoll/Siamese mix.


Jessica, LVT
Jessica graduated from UMA-Bangor in 2012, and has been in the field ever since, giving her years of experience. She joined MTVH in 2019 and has proven to be a wonderful addition to our team. Jessica is always willing to help out in any way possible and brings a positive attitude with her as well. She loves working with hospitalized patients because it is so rewarding to see them recover and feel better when they presented so sick initially. She enjoys the one on one time that they require as well. Jessica takes a special interest in surgical procedures, and she loves to snuggle puppies when given the opportunity. Outside of the practice, she enjoys ATVing and caring for her animals: Riggs, a Rottweiler, Holley, a mixed breed dog, four Nigerian Dwarf goats, and seven call ducks.


Reagan, Veterinary Assistant
Reagan started with us in 2020 while she was in the Veterinary Technology program at UMA. She loves being able to work with animals, especially alongside a team of great people who make work fun. Reagan looks forward to continuing to learn as much as she can in the field of veterinary medicine and takes special interest in surgical procedures, preventive care, and getting puppies and kittens off to a healthy start. Outside of work Reagan enjoys outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, camping, four wheeling, snowmobiling, and wildlife photography. In addition to several ducks, she has five fur babies at home: Oakley and Diesel, both black labs, Elliot and Theo, both short-haired tiger cats, and Salem, a long-haired black cat.


Sierra, Receptionist/Assistant
Sierra joined us as a receptionist and began assisting our technicians shortly after, which she enjoys. She is originally from Aroostook county and spent some of her childhood there. Her and her boyfriend have been local residents for quite some time now, and they have a retriever mix named Dixie and a cat named Hazel. Sierra is always friendly and courteous and looks forward to helping others. She loves to see puppies at work and is always up for a walk or adventure with Dixie.


Hannah, Receptionist
Hannah is originally from South Carolina but resides locally and attends classes at KVCC. Hannah is always kind and helpful and hopes to provide positive interactions with our clients. Although she is a CNA and currently a nursing student, she would love to expand her knowledge in the veterinary field. Hannah enjoys spending time with friends and family, ice fishing, snowmobiling, hunting, and being outside with her chocolate Lab Callie.


Julia, Receptionist
Julia is the newest member of our client service team. She loves being in the veterinary field around others with similar interests, and she is enjoying learning how each animal is so different from the next. Julia is also eager to gain a better understanding of veterinary medicine while on the job. She has always had dogs growing up and now has a Golden Retriever of her own named Doc. In the summertime, Julia enjoys going for walks with Doc and helping her father with the family business.


Krystal, Receptionist
Krystal has been with the practice since 2011. She splits her time between behind the scenes office work and customer service. Providing a positive experience for pets and their owners, as well as an engaging and fun workplace atmosphere for the MTVH team is what she strives for. Her and her husband have three children, and a Dalmatian named Spanner. When she’s not working, Krystal enjoys watching her kids play sports, walking Spanner, strength training, running, boating in the summertime, and baking.
